Malta's Ancient Capital Of Mdina

ree

Mdina is a city that will strike you the instant you enter its fortified walls. Pedestrian traffic is the only movement here, as no vehicles are allowed, but it’s alive with ancient architectural treasures, restaurants, cafes, palaces, museums and other impressive sights.

The city served as the capital of Malta from the antiquity through the Medieval period – until the arrival of the Order of St. John when the administrative capital shifted to Birgu.

Today, you can wander through the small, quaint streets, shop for Maltese glass, have a glass of local wine at a café or just let yourself become mesmerized by the incredible doors with knockers that seem to outdo each other from one house to the next.

You’ll love every minute of your time here.
