LOT Polish Airlines, the flag carrier of Poland, has come a long way in their development of new service categories like Premium Economy and additions to their existing business class. They have elevated their offerings by creating cabins that are comfortable, yet distinct in what they offer flyers traveling to Poland and beyond.

On a recent trip to Poland, I flew from New York’s JFK airport to Warsaw. I was booked in business class aboard the airline’s new Boeing 787 Dreamliner, and was excited to experience it, as it was my first time flying the Polish carrier. I spent roughly an hour before my flight at LOT’s lounge in JFK, snacking on small sandwiches and potato chips. I boarded on time and departed on the 8-hour flight. The flight attendants on-board were all friendly, kind and willing to help make my flight as smooth as possible. The seats on the flight recline into an almost fully flat bed. There is still a small incline, but the setup is comfortable and you are able to lay nearly flat for a very pleasant sleep overseas. I charged my phone and computer in the plugs and USB outlets within the seat – making me happy to have the convenience of these outlets during flight. My meal was served promptly and was truly delicious. The menu is curated by international and Polish chefs and I chose the roasted chicken and vegetables for dinner. I fell asleep shortly after dinner and awoke 40 minutes before touchdown – where coffee and a light breakfast was served.

On my return to New York, I flew LOT’S new premium economy. LOT’s premium economy cabin is, in my opinion, one of the best “deals” when looking for greater comfort and a fantastic flying experience – at a slightly higher price than economy. Equipped with large and comfortable seats that recline generously, passengers can expect to have an incredible amount of room and space to curl-up, unwind and relax on their flight. I flew in Premium Economy from Warsaw’s Chopin airport to New York’s JFK airport. The flying time was just over 8 hours, which is long enough to properly absorb the entirety of the experience – including premium entertainment on 12-inch individual television screens . I was impressed with the amenity kit given before takeoff, the food served – which included a wide array of international dishes. The cabin itself was intimate and cozy – which felt like business. I was even able to sleep quite well, napping intermittently between movies.

On both legs of my flight, I was able to enjoy LOT’s new business class lounge at Warsaw airport. The space is bright, comfortable and offers everything from desserts, coffee, snacks, soups and other amenities to make your waiting time more comfortable. it’s one of my favorite new lounges in Europe, due to its intimate size and service.

Overall, I loved my experience with LOT. They are expanding their route network in places like Los Angeles, Seoul and Tokyo – and make a fantastic choice for those flying to Poland and beyond to other destinations in Europe. I’m excited for their growth and am happy to see their efforts in making your journey a positive experience – in every way that they can.
