An Afternoon In The Vineyard At Douro Valley’s Quinta Nova

Quinta Nova, a vineyard and hotel experience tucked into the picturesque hills of the Douro Valley, is a must-see for anyone exploring this incredible wine-producing region of Portugal.

An elegant property littered with vines that cascade down to the Douro River, Quinta Nova is the perfect place to stop-in for lunch or snacks and a glass of wine.

I was a recent guest here for the afternoon and was shown around the property to take-in its many splendors.

I was so impressed at the way the concept held an air of elegance and charm without being pretentious. It is literally like a little slice of heaven in the hills of Portugal’s beautiful North.

Sitting under the shade of a bougainvillea tree, I sipped a class of cabernet produced on sight while snacking on freshly prepared snacks and cheese brought-out by the chef.

I was in heaven.

I cannot wait to return and experience the hotel firsthand.
